In this case the competent authorities are the Office of the Merchant Navy of the Ministry of Public Works, Buildings and Transport (Dirección General de Marina Mercante del Ministerio de Fomento) and the Office of Transport of the regional Canarian Government (Dirección General de Transportes del Gobierno de Canarias), with their respective powers. It is also involved in the tourism business with the Hotel Jardín Tecina and Rural Houses, the competent authorities in this case being the Office of Tourist Planning and Infrastructure of the regional Canarian Government (Dirección General de Ordenación e Infraestructura Turística del Gobierno de Canarias) as well as the Island Council (Cabildo Insular) in La Gomera, with their respective powers.
